I don't think it was bad, just predicable. it had some nice little scares here and there. the storyline was also interesting with a couple flaws. like, these children survived years in a cabin in the woods by a ghost who fed them cherries. I don't think so lol
I would say that Mama kinda reminds me of the tooth fairy in Darkness Falls. remember that movie? well same premise. at least I think so. I mean the way both characters look and how they move are both similar. also the horrid moans they make.
I hated the ending. it made me cry:-( I always thought that displaying the pain of children or even having them suffer in movies is a bold move. its not something you see often in films. maybe because its very difficult to watch.
It was kinda weird when the movie ended. I got up out my seat and saw a little girl who had just watched it with her mom. I thought to myself "I wonder how this kid feels about the ending" . I'm sure she had nightmares that night.
Some interesting people you might or might not recognize from the film are Jessica Chastain, she plays Maya in Zero Dark Thirty. in this movie she wears a short black wig with a dark punk rocker style & Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (who I don't ever remember seeing before but he was quite handsome) plays Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones.
Id rate it a 7 out of 10
don't forget to bring your kids.
